cold walks through the city

cold walks through the city,
you ever been with somebody
and so lonely?
your mouth moves quickly,
your mind so slowly.
you get used to the feeling,
to your own contradiction,
to realizing that what's in front of you
never quite fits the description.
it's like when you're walking
for so long,
in such cold,
the stinging so strong,
and seems so old,
that you get used to being numb.
