lists,
he loves lists -
to do's,
pros and cons,
books to read,
places to visit before he dies,
things that make him happy,
make him more alive,
reasons why he should stay,
reasons why he should go,
everything he's ever done for you
that you don't seem to know,
the ways that he loves you
that don't fit into his five year plan -
he likes to count those on his fingers
with a puzzled look on his face,
like he does in the produce section
when he's trying to remember
all of the fruits and veggies on the grocery list
that he left on the white marble counter
back in his studio apartment
because he was rushing out of the door.
he's always telling himself
he needs to focus more.
